Bruce Elving, Professor of FM Radio

For DXers, catching far-away stations is kind of like fishing. You don't want to catch just the easy ones. That's one reason FM and TV DXing was more fun than AM and shortwave DXing (at least for some of us). AM and shortwave depend on the ionosphere for distant coverage as a matter of course.
