ARSI Club Station at Red Cross Building in Bangalore

ARSI (Amateur Radio Society of India) has signed a protocol agreement with the Red Cross Society in Bangalore to work with them on emergency communications. The Club Station VU2ZH will be inaugurated by H E the Governor of Karnataka at 0900 HRS on Wednesday the 12th August 2009 at:
Indian Red Cross Society
No.26, Red Cross Bhavan, 1st Floor,
Race Course Road, Bangalore -560 001.

We request stations to stand by and give reports and maybe exchange a few words with the Governor at that time. Stations in Bangalore on the VHF repeater and HF and as many stations as possible on 7050 between 0900 and0930 from all over India. All are invited to attend the inauguration- you must be there by 0830 asthere will be security issues with the Governor attending . The station will have both HF and VHF capabilities.

The equipment consists of:
1. A Yaesu FT757 GX with power supply and accessories ( kindly donatedby OM Chandru VU2RCR)
2. A Fritzl multiband HF Vertical antenna ( kindly donated by the lateOM Robert VU2MKP)
3. A VHF base station and antenna

The station will be available to all ARSI members and a special access cardwill be issued to identify them to the security at the building. We hope that this will be the first of many such stations set up throughout India.
